I’ve had an interest in photography since I took a class in my Junior year of high school, around 2002. I worked with 35mm and it was a pain but I found it relaxing. I joined the military shortly after high school and never had a “good” camera on me to tell the crazy stories that surrounded a soldier in the Army. I’ve lived in Japan, South Korea, and Iraq (not because I wanted to) and I wish I had taken time to take more pictures. Only a handful of photos exist and mostly with the quality of a 2004 cell phone camera.
Fast forward to a few months ago, my beautiful fiance Melissa had seen that I loved taking pictures everywhere we went. Generally in the Arizona/California/Nevada areas. I was laid off from a great job and found myself a little bummed. To cheer me up she purchased my first “real” camera and from there I haven’t stopped attempting to develop my skill and learn everything there is about photography. I do not plan on being a professional, or making it my primary source of income. It’s just a hobby and we’ll see where it goes from there.
So far, it has pulled me away from my computer and encouraged me to take the road less traveled. I’m always thinking about where I want to go next, and what hidden areas Arizona has to offer. It has encouraged and motivated me to attempt and try new things. Melissa has been a big inspiration to me in that I love documenting the places we go and the things we do. She has been patient with me and my hobby, and it has already improved everything about our relationship and I love doing it.
Check out some of the photos, they are more or less short snippets of some of the adventures we go on, and some of the things I do. I hope you like them and thanks for visiting!
